The International Skin Tear Advisory Panel (ISTAP) is pleased to announce that the Call for Nominations for the 2026 Board of Directors is now open.


ISTAP is committed to a transparent, equitable, and globally representative nomination and election process. We encourage qualified members from across our international community to consider stepping into a leadership role and contributing to our mission of achieving A World Without Skin Tears.


Key Dates

  • Call for Nominations Opens: April 9, 2026

  • Nomination Deadline: May 8, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET


Positions Open for Nomination

Executive Position

  • President-Elect

    • Term: May 27, 2026 – May 2028

    • Automatically assumes the role of President (May 2028 – May 2030)


Regional Director Positions

  • Asia

  • Australia / New Zealand

  • Latin America (Portuguese)

  • Latin America (Spanish)

  • United Kingdom

All Regional Director terms run from May 27, 2026 – May 2028, with eligibility for an additional two-year term.


Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for nomination, candidates must:

  • Be an ISTAP Member in good standing

  • Be a healthcare professional with a focus on wound management and/or skin tear prevention

  • Meet all governance and eligibility criteria outlined in the official nomination materials


Nomination Process

Nominations must be submitted online and include:

  • Nomination Form

  • Nomination Acceptance Form

  • Consent to Serve Form

All required forms must be completed by the May 8, 2026 deadline.



Election Process

  • All nominations are reviewed by the ISTAP Nominating Committee

  • Acclamation occurs if a position is uncontested

  • Elections (if required) will take place at the ISTAP AGM on May 27, 2026

  • Voting is conducted via secure and anonymous Zoom polling

  • Only ISTAP Class A Members (Board of Directors) are eligible to vote

We strongly encourage interested and qualified members to put their names forward or nominate a colleague who is passionate about advancing wound care globally.
