The International Skin Tear Advisory Panel (ISTAP) is pleased to announce the official Call for Nominations for the 2026 Board of Directors.
ISTAP is committed to a transparent, equitable, and globally representative nomination and election process. We encourage qualified members from across our international community to consider serving in leadership.

2026 Call for Nominations – Newly Opened Board Vacancies
Following recent governance changes, ISTAP is seeking nominations to fill three vacant Regional Director positions for the remainder of the current Board terms. We encourage qualified members from around the world to consider serving in these important leadership roles.

Open Positions

Regional Director – Asia (term ending May 2028)

Regional Director – Latin America (Portuguese) (term ending May 2028)

Regional Director – Middle East (term ending May 2027)
Term of Office
Successful candidates will assume office following a special meeting of the ISTAP Board of Directors on September 15, 2026, and will serve for the remainder of the current term for their respective position. Upon completion of that term, Directors are eligible to stand for election to one additional full two-year term, in accordance with the ISTAP Bylaws.
Qualifications
To be eligible, Directors must:

Be at least eighteen (18) years of age
-
Be an ISTAP Member in good standing
-
Be employed as a healthcare professional with a focus on wound management and/or skin tear prevention and management
-
Not be an employee or representative of a company whose primary business involves the development, manufacture, and sole distribution of products in the field of wound or skin care
-
Not be a contractor of ISTAP
-
Be in good financial standing
-
Not have the status of a bankrupt
-
Not have been found mentally incompetent by a court in Canada or elsewhere

Nomination Procedure
Nominations must be submitted online through the official ISTAP nomination forms available at:
www.skintears.org/call-for-nominations
The following must be completed by the deadline:

Consent to Serve Form
All forms must be submitted online by August 31, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET.
Upon submission, nominators and nominees will receive an automatic email confirmation.
If confirmation is not received, please contact info@skintears.org.
Election Process
All nominations are reviewed by the ISTAP Nominating Committee Chair and the Nominating Committee.

If a position is unopposed, the candidate will be acclaimed.

If a position is contested, an election will be held at a special meeting of the board in mid-September.
Voting is conducted via secure and anonymous Zoom polling.
Only ISTAP Class A Members (Executive Board and Regional Directors) are eligible to vote.
All candidates must:

Consent to serve if elected

Agree to participate in and accept the outcome of anonymous polling conducted by ISTAP Class A Members
