Pía is a nurse from Concepción- Chile. She holds an Intensive Care Specialist postgraduate, Master of Science in Nursing, and Doctor in Nursing from the University of Concepción.
Former intern in Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization, Health System and Services Department/Human Resource for Health Unit, Washington D.C.
Between 2018 and 2021 she was a Research committee member of the Chilean Intensive Care Society / Nursing Division (SOCHIMI/DESCHMI). In 2021, she was the Research Committee Director of the Chilean Scientific Association of Stomas, Wounds and Continence (ACCHIEHC).
Since 2024, she has been collaborating with the research group LABTECS (Laboratório de Pesquisa em Tecnologias e Cuidados às Condiçöes Crônicas de Saúde, Universidade Federal do Piauí), and almost 10 years with the Postgraduate ICU program in the University of Concepción.
She is part of the Editorial Board of Revista RENE (Rede de Enfermagem do Nordeste-Brasil). In addition, she is a peer reviewer of Revista Ciencia & Enfermería, Universidad de Concepción, and Revista ALADEFE (Asociación Latinoamérica de Escuelas y Facultades de Enfermería).
She currently works in the Intensive Care Unit, and at the same time is the nursing research coordinator for the Care Manager Office of Guillermo Grant Benavente Hospital Concepción-Chile.
