Dr. Jeannie Donnelly
PhD., Dip. Wound Healing & Tissue Repair, B.Sc. (Hon's) Health Studies, RN, ONC
Regional Director United Kingdom
I qualified as a Registered Nurse in Belfast in 1988, and spent the first 8 years of my career working in the Fracture Trauma Unit of the Royal Victoria Hospital. During my time in this specialty, I became passionately interested in wound healing and tissue repair. In 1996, I became the first Tissue Viability Nurse on the island of Ireland, and in 2010, the Lead Nurse for Tissue Viability within the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust.
I have taught within the School of Nursing, Queens University Belfast for over 20 years. I was very proud to be part of the university team, which successfully developed an NMC approved Tissue Viability Nurse Specialist Course in 2018.
In 2026 I was both proud and humbled to receive an MBE in the Kings Birthday Honour’s List for my contribution to nursing, specifically in the field of Tissue Viability.
