Karen Ousey

Karen has an active research interest in skin integrity and infection prevention both in clinical practice and academia that has culminated in the formation of the Institute of Skin Integrity and Infection Prevention (ISIaIP) at the University of Huddersfield for which she is Director. Karen has a sustained record of high quality peer-reviewed publications (in excess of 150) including papers in refereed journals, editorships of journals, papers in refereed conference proceedings, books and chapters in books. Since commencing at the University of Huddersfield, she has achieved a sustained record of successful applications for research funding from a range of sources including the Hospital Infection Society, Innovate UK, National Biofilm Innovation Centre, URGO Foundation, industrial partners and national research bodies. Karen is the module leader for the Masters modules in Tissue Viability and Wound Management and Leg Ulcer Management at the University of Huddersfield.
