Originally from Montreal, Canada, Julia is a graduate from the McGill University Faculty of Nursing where she was awarded the Evelyn Rocque Malowany Prize in Nursing Leadership in 2012. She completed her nursing registration exams in both Canada and the United Kingdom. In 2015, she completed a post graduate nursing specialization in the tri-specialty of wound, ostomy and continence care (Nurse Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence – NSWOC) from the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Institute based in Ottawa, Canada. She went on to study nursing leadership for nurses specialized in wound, ostomy and continence and is currently working towards completing an MSc in Management for Future Leaders at Henley Business School.
She co-wrote “Prevention and Management of Skin Damage related to PPE- Update 2020” and helped to launch a PPE Skin Clinic for hospital staff and “NSWOCC Best Practice Recommendations for skin health among critically ill patients with an emphasis on critically ill individuals suffering from COVID-19.” Julia has also developed a skin tear prevention and management program for Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust which launched in 2021.
